Germany – France – Maghreb
The project
The “Youth Forum for a Greener Future” was initially scheduled for July 2020 in Marseille at the intercultural village of Une Terre Culturelle where all the participants of the youth exchanges would have met.
We have had to rethink the concept of our exchanges to maintain the link despite the health crisis and restrictions on (inter-)national mobility. This is why we decided to organize this intercultural and ecological meeting forum in digital format.
The main objective of this Euro-Mediterranean forum is to create a new ecological dynamic around youth exchange projects. We wish to share our intercultural knowledge and methods with young people involved in environmental protection, professionals in sustainable development and actors of the civil society and French-German-Maghrebian youth workers.
Thanks to this forum, we wish to:
- develop projects dealing with ecology and environmental protection ;
- raise awareness of sustainable development issues among a wider public;
- initiate a Euro-Mediterranean ecological network for intercultural hosts (deeper ecological education) and young ambassadors (raise awareness of other young people to mobility and issues around the theme).
This forum is also an opportunity to bring together the international partners of three upcoming intercultural exchanges in 2021 on the theme of ecology and environmental protection:
France – Germany – Morocco
France – Germany – Tunisia
France – Germany – Algeria

Digital format
We decided to organize this meeting in digital format to allow our work of interculturality and youth to keep going on. We are adapting to the restrictions of global mobility but also to democratize the digital tools and maintain the international dialogue between young people and adults.
The program is organized on 4 days:
The first 3 days are consecutive (December 3-4-5, 2020) and the 4th day of online meeting will take place one week later (December 11, 2020).
Participants
This project is aimed at teenagers and young adults (16-20 years old) who have little or no knowledge of ecological issues, so that we can form a mixed group and influence and question each other.
As interpreters will be present during the project meetings, no prior language knowledge is required.
