Germany – France – Macedonia

The project

Sport is a medium of cohesion and exchange and serves as a flagship in the fight against discrimination and prejudice. It is a means to promote the social development of the individual. By encouraging young people to approach each other in a direct and active way, breaking down personal and physical barriers, sport offers the opportunity to overcome inhibitions and supports the development of a positive group dynamic.

Unfortunately, sport is still mainly associated with the male gender. From an early age, boys are encouraged to compete in sporting disciplines. In contrast, girls are often less encouraged to participate in certain sports. The aim of this project is to question these differences and, together with the participants, to work out prejudices and discrimination in today’s sports world.

This French-German-Macedonian exchange gives young people the opportunity to meet, share their common experiences and play sports together. The focus is on the production of a short film summarizing the three project phases and presenting the discussons about opportunities and inequalities in sport in the style of a commercial or a trailer. This common production will then be shown at a public tournament in the three partner cities in order to promote this international project to a wider audience.

Combined with learning languages and intercultural methods, sport is a wonderful medium to bring young people from different countries and backgrounds together.
