Youth mobility guides

Germany – France

The project

Youth mobility guides is a Franco-German learning and exchange program for 18-25 year olds who have already completed a mobility program.

This project is open to 6 young people from Germany and 6 young people from France to give them the opportunity to become ambassadors of international mobility in their neighborhood. The program is divided into 3 phases of 2 months each from May to December 2021:

  1. A training phase: participants benefit from courses to learn the partner language and follow training workshops in intercultural animation methods. One to two half-days per week are planned.
  2. An internship phase: among the 6 young people of one country people, 3 leave to do an animation internship in the partner social structures in abroad, and the 3 others stay on site to welcome the young people coming from the partner country.
  3. A capitalization and implementation phase: upon their return, participants gather their new knowledge and implement actions to promote international mobility in their neighborhood.

This program aims to create a real dynamic of exchange between young people from Germany and France, but also between young people from the same neighborhood. We recruit the participants among the visitors of the partner social structures. This guarantees a group with varied profiles as well as the accessibility to international mobility for young people who usually do not benefit from this type of program.

Youth mobility guides will allow the participants to use all that they have learned during the training phase and the internship phase and to become themselves spokespersons for intercultural exchanges among the young people of their neighborhood. These actions will be carried out not only during the third phase but also in the long term. We believe that it is essential to involve them in this process since they will be the ones to share their interest and experiences abroad with other young people.
